Joshua 3: 7-8 (NIV)
7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. 8 Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’
Do you know that miracles happened while the Jordan River was at flood stage during harvest season? Just as the priest were told to go stand in the river during the possibility of a flood. I believe God is requiring us to stand too. When there is a possibility of bad weather, the meteorologist always gives us tips on how to prepare. We are in hurricane season which often times brings about flooding. It seems like we are living is hurricane season now, because of the unrest in the earth. I read in one article that an hurricane can bring about uncertainty and sleeplessness. However, if I can just share with you just a few things I learned about preparing for a flood that could help you stand in Jordan. Here is a quick checklist: get a weather radio and learn how to understand the emergency notifications (keep a posture of humility and constantly check your heart), research the flood risk(know the benefits of following God’s instructions and the consequences of doing your own thing), prepare emergency flood kits (pack some love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), establish an evacuation route (build your trust and faith in God because "The steps of a good man are ordered by God."), have a communication plan (remain in prayer and open your spiritual ears) and raise up appliances or items to protect them from damage (lift up Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord God is our banner).
The good news is we are in preparation season and we are going to cross over Jordan. Now, that you have made it where you can stand in Jordan let's prepare to journey across Jordan. God has already spoken the divine favor over your life and it is about to be evident on the earth. Now, are you ready to stand in Jordan?
