A New Thing

Can we just give the Lord some praise this morning. If I can just prophesy to you today from the scripture of Deuteronomy 12:10 (NKJV) – “But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all of your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety.

The scripture starts out with the word, “but” which is a transition word used to introduce a phrase opposing with what has already been mentioned (Oxford Dictionary). The conversation before this has to do with the physical church building and how the people were worshiping. As we can see today, church/worship is not the same and God has commanded a new form of true worship. First, we had to seek a new place to worship. The new place of worship was our homes. God wanted to dwell with us in our homes. We put him on display for the public and hide him in private. Second, we had to find a new way to worship. The new way to worship is online, television, sharing between your family or a few people gathered practicing social distancing. Third, we had to determine how we are going to give our time, talent and tithe. What does the new offerings and sacrifices look like during this season? Are you giving and serving the things God has chosen? God is just giving us some instructions before we cross over Jordan into the Promise Land to begin a new thing that we don’t take the old mindset to the Promise Land. God said, you will be able to have spiritual rest because I have dwell with you in a different way. I have settled some things you have longed to know the answers. I have provided the keys to address your enemies. You can now worship me in spirit and in truth. Your inheritance waits for you. I am your Jehovah Machsi, your Lord of refuge (Psalm 91:9). I am your Jehovah Magen, your Lord of Shield (Deuteronomy 33:9),
